JULIA MAGDALENA

Julia Magdalena is a Calgary-based singer, songwriter, and producer whose passion for music began at an early age. Born into a musical household with classical pianist father Krzysztof Jablonski, she grew up surrounded by classical music and developed a strong musical foundation before exploring piano, violin, flute, before getting her first guitar.

At just thirteen, in 2019, Julia began teaching herself songwriting and production with nothing more than a guitar, a MIDI keyboard, and GarageBand. She soon began sharing her music online through YouTube and other platforms while continuing to develop her skills as both a vocalist and producer. In 2021 she won the Faith Song of the Year competition hosted by CCSD. Her original acoustic song, Holding Hands In Faith, which was live-streamed to an audience of over 7,000 across Calgary. A couple years later, her covers started gaining views, with her Billie Eilish's Birds of a Feather cover gaining significant traction on YouTube, accumulating over 65K views and introducing her voice to a wider audience.

Beyond the digital world, she sung with her Bishop Carroll’s award-winning choirs across Canada, and performed the national anthem at several events, including the Western Canada Swim Championships which were broadcasted live on TV across Canada.

In 2023, Julia began studying music production through Berklee College of Music and has since continued collaborating with artists throughout Calgary while refining her craft as a producer and songwriter.

In 2025, Julia released her debut single, Mi Vida, a track she wrote, produced, and performed entirely herself. Influenced by producers such as Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Grant Boutin, and Rvssian, as well as artists including Ariana Grande, Zara Larsson, and Billie Eilish, she blends modern pop production with expressive vocals and emotionally driven songwriting.

Now on June 17th, 2026, she released her sophomore single '“Lover or Friend",” available on all streaming platforms.

When she isn't in the studio, Julia studies Marketing at the University of Calgary, where she hopes to combine creativity and business as she continues building her career as both an artist and producer.
